Korean Skincare Haul: CNP Laboratory & Insobeau

I’ve been getting really into Korean Skincare lines lately (have you read my Snail Cream Review?). So, after reading endless amounts of reviews, watching videos and TV shows featuring these products, I decided to order some for myself and try them out – hey, we’re all searching for the next best thing for our skin, aren’t we?

At last, my orders came! All the products I purchased have become famous and insanely popular in South Korea through word of mouth and celebrity mentions within the last year or so.  The products are very well priced for what they claim to do, compared to designer brands that you’d find here in North America.

So let me stop babbling and just show you what I got:

Yet another Gmarket order

Placed an order for some spring/summer clothes. My friend called it our gmarket “Box of Spring” lol.  It took about 8-9 days from placing the order to my doorsteps and I’ll share the stuff.

RIght now, I have a love/hate relationship with gmarket.

LOVE:

  • Fast Shipping
  • Low Prices
  • Huge Selection of Trendy Pieces

HATE:

  • When the product doesn’t at all look like what it did in the pictures in terms of quality
This time around, I got a few blouses and a plain t-shirt:

These were called the “Vivid Blouse”, probably b/c of their bright colors.  The fit is nice but I realized the long sleeves can be a big too warm for the summer – I guess I can just roll them up! I do like them but there’s something about them that I’m not that excited about… hm..


This blouse is actually really cute and wears well – I’m happy with it.

 
These two are the same style, just different color. These were fails b/c the material of the white trimming is not the same chiffon material as the rest of the blouse… It’s kinda WTF. They’re also very sheer.. I’m not talking about nice summer sheer, I’m talking about “how would I wear this?” sheer. UGH

My friend’s orders: She was way more successful than me, here’s what she got… Mind you, they were all lovely and perfect for the upcoming warm months!

Gmarket Haul

Another Gmarket haul!

For those of you not aware of what Gmarket is, it’s a Korean website for sellers and buyers of all kinds of different things from clothing, electronics, accessories, makeup, skincare, etc.  It’s affiliated with eBay and there are literally thousands of online “shops”.  The reason I enjoy using this website is that these sellers carry trendy, affordable and very cute pieces that you can’t find at a local shop or a North American retailer.

The downside to ordering from this website is the shipping cost.  It goes by weight, so with about 5 items, you’ll be paying around $30-$50 just in shipping!  This is why I recommend ordering with a friend as shipping gets a bit cheaper when you split it two or three ways.

Once the Gmarket warehouse receives all your items from the individual sellers (takes about 1-3 days), they pack it in one big box and ship it via AIR to your address.  It only takes around 12 hours from korea to Canada and once it arrives in the customs office, you’ll get your items on your doorstep within the next 2-4 days, depending on where you live, of course.

F/U on My Shopping Ban & End-of-Season Haul

OOO the irony… “follow up on a SHOPPING BAN… plus haul” LOL.

For those who didn’t know, I was on a Shopping Ban from Jan 24th.  Sadly, I didn’t make it!! On February 17th, one week before the end of my ban, I couldn’t stop myself from the “End of Season Sale”  :( :( :(

I know this is such a sorry excuse to shop… but when else am I going to get such amazing deals?

BUT, I think going three weeks was a good start for a impulsive shopaholic like me. haha.  Instead of doing a ban that’s just going to make me want to shop even more, I should just learn to control my spending! Yes? OK.

Anyways, some stuff I picked up:

Also, did you know that Le Chateau improved their quality on their products? I was surprised to see such nice pieces of clothing AND shoes!  It’s not the same Le Chateau that sold low quality trashy clothes anymore! Hooray!

They were all definitely WORTH IT! :)

Gmarket Shopping

Ever since Ifound out about this website, I have gone mad and can’t stop ordering stuff from there. For those who are not familiar with GMarket, it’s basically a korean ebay where various sellers offer everything from clothes, shoes, makeup, electronics, etc, you name it, they have it.

At first I was pretty skeptical of it, but after doing my research (blog posts & youtube yay), I decided to give it a try.  Shipping is a lot if you order by urself (it goes by weight), however if you split with a friend, it usualy comes to around $20-$25 each when you order $100 worth of stuff, which isn’t bad at all. I think they ship to pretty much everywhere… Check out the shipping fees here.

The quality of these clothes are not amazing, I would say they are comparable to H&M or forever21 - you get what you pay for. Some stuff are great, some… are questionable my advice would be to look at the details of the pieces to make sure you know what kind of fabric, how long/wide it is, etc before buying it.
