Hot Right Now: Coach Legacy Collection

Tis the season to shop for gifts – for yourself and others!

I was a big fan of the brand Coach before (come on… who wasn’t?) but I started straying away when I discovered other brands. However, the new Legacy Collection has me lusting after their new designs. If you haven’t seen them yet – the Legacy Collection boasts attractive designs in a rainbow of colors from classics like black and cognac to pop of colors like bright pink and kelly green. What I like the most about these bags are that they’re simple in design but has awesome details like big zippers and tassels.

My favorite styles are: the Rory, the Penny shoulder purse and the Colorblock clutch.

With their great quality and affordable price tag (the best part), you can be sure that these will make great gifts this holiday season. The color block clutch is definitely on my Xmas list… but now I kind of want a coloful poppy messenger too :)

Understated Contemporary Bags: Olivia Harris by Joy Gryson

I feel like people buy and drool over the same bag brands & bag designs as they are “IT Bags” or a “Must Have”. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that and I do it too, since most of the time, those bags are well made, beautiful designed and drool-worthy (LV speedy, Celine phantom, Chanel 2.55, the list goes on… and they will forever be on my wish list).

However, there are those understated brands that I come across from time to time that should be brought into the spotlight. This past September, during my trip to NYC, I saw THE bag by Olivia Harris. I was familiar with that brand as it is a contemporary/edgy line by Joy Gryson (I previously wanted a zip pocket messenger bag by her but couldn’t get it anywhere!).

The Olivia Harris line is edgy, practical and UNIQUE, not to mention the fact that it’s of great value ($$). The great thing about understated brands is that you won’t see it on 5 other people on the street, which is why I love her designs even more. You can call it Your Own.

Online Shopping 101 & My Favorites Sites

I’ve been an online shopping fanatic for a while (in addition to just being a shopaholic in general) – I really need to stop! I’ve been good lately at resisting the temptations.. until this month.

This post isn’t to blame the online shopping world because I am totally a supporter of it – it’s to share with you guys some tips to a successful online shopping experience and all the places I find the best DEALS & value :) Keep in mind that I use online shopping to purchase online clothing, accessories and beauty products – no electronics or big purchases like that.

Sure, with online shopping, there are some negatives such as:

not being able to try the product
not seeing product first hand
exchange/return hassel when you can’t take it back to a physical store

BUT, there are the positives:

most of the time, there are discount coupons & promotions
there’s nothing more exciting than opening that package
most places allow for exchanges/returns in stores
shipping is fast these days and i mean FAST
accessibility & browsing EVERYTHING the store is to offer (sometimes, in physical stores, they run out of stock)
less time wasted walking around the store, you can see everything with just a click of a mouse

As you can tell from the positive/negative lists above, for me – the positives outweigh the negatives. The best thing about online shopping is that there’s no pushy salesperson pressuring you and it’s so convenience – you can shop pretty much anytime you have wifi.

There are probably a lot of people out there hesitant to try shopping online because of a numerous reasons, so here’s some tips to somewhat help you get the best online shopping experience:

Only use legitimate & trustworthy website
For sizes, since you can’t try it on, I usually like to purchase when I can see the product on a model. I also go for brands I’m familiar with so I know how they usually fit on my body
Lots of research on reviews on the product, especially if it’s makeup & skincare
Search for discount codes & coupons
Always keep a tab on everything you order with its confirmation number
